My name is Ana María Hintermann-Villamil and I was born in 1971 in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. I have been married to Felix Hintermann since 2000 and live in Switzerland. We have two beautiful teenage daughters.
I came to Switzerland in 1998 for an exchange year. I wanted to learn German, but then I met my husband and stayed.
In Honduras I went to a bilingual school. That’s why English is my second language alongside my native Spanish. I trained in graphic design in my home country and worked as a graphic designer in Honduras and Switzerland for some time. In Switzerland I trained to become a Playgroup Teacher of the IG Spielgruppe. I then worked as a substitute teacher in various playgroups.
In the first few years with our daughters, I focused on raising them. In 2016 I started working at the cash register at COOP and from 2018 to 2021 also at the childcare service at the Flower Power Fitness Center (now Aktiv Fitness) in Köniz. I was employed at both places with short working hours so that I have enough time for my family and for face painting.
About face painting, my new passion…
…I found it by chance: I was asked several times if I could do makeup for the children at the school festival in Fraubrunnen, where I live. I soon realized that this work fascinated me. Every time I get to do makeup for a child, I’m so happy to see a smile form on her/his face as soon as she/he sees her/himself in the mirror!
That’s why I decided to take up face painting professionally. I have now successfully completed various face painting training courses:
